Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that helps relieve pressure on the nerves in your spine to reduce pain and improve movement. Your spine is made up of bones, discs, and ligaments that support your body and protect your spinal cord. When these structures become injured or worn down, they can press on nearby nerves and cause pain. Spinal decompression helps reduce that pressure and can be used to treat many common conditions, including bulging or herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, and spinal stenosis.
In our office, spinal decompression is performed using a specialized, computer-controlled table that gently stretches the spine in cycles of pulling and relaxation. While you lie comfortably on the table with a secure harness, gentle traction creates negative pressure within the spinal discs to relieve pressure on the nerves. Each session lasts about 10–30 minutes and is typically done over several weeks. In our office we use customized, progressive treatment protocols tailored to each patient’s unique condition and needs to help achieve lasting relief and improved spinal health.
